Vic & Bertie |
Vic & Bertie is the trade name for fashion historian and curator, Angela J. Smith. The Vic & Bertie Collection is an archive of mainly 1960s and 1970s rare and exquisite historic clothing in remarkable condition, accumulated over a near thirty-year period. Vic & Bertie has loaned to many British museums and exhibitions over the past couple of decades to the present day, also contributing to many films, fashion shoots and magazine features.
The Vic & Bertie Collection is also notable for its extensive collection of original Biba garments and ephemera (1963-1975) which runs close to one thousand objects. This collection formed the majority of exhibits on display at the highly successful Biba and Beyond: Barbara Hulanicki at Brighton Museum, 22 September 2012 - 14 May, 2013. Many garments and artefacts from the collection also feature in the definitive Biba book The Biba Years: 1963-1975 (V&A Publishing, 2014). |
Many of the items in the online store have been pulled from the Vic & Bertie Collection, all have been stored with great care and many are past exhibition pieces. Therefore store customers can be assured they will be purchasing a quality vintage fashion item in excellent condition, clean and ready-to-wear.
